What To Put In Your Dog’s Suitcase

Whenever we travel with our dogs, we pack them their own bag. 🎒 This way our stuff doesn’t get all hairy (although our clothes are covered in dog glitter pretty much all the time anyway 🤣) and it’s easy to find things back.

We tend to travel around quite a lot and don’t take our big suitcase out of the car at every BnB. Instead, we make a selection for the week ahead and put it in a smaller suitcase so we only need to take that one out when we stay at a different place every night. The one of the dogs always goes inside with us! 🐶

Dog travel bag checklist

  • Dog Passport
  • Medication
  • Doggy first aid kit – this one is always in our car, you never know what might happen…
  • Poopie bags
  • Collar, harness, leash – we like to take a short one and a long flexi
  • A tag on his collar with your dog’s name on it, your name, phone number with country code and address
  • Food – if it’s fresh/raw, take a cooling box
  • Water
  • Bowls – preferably collapsible or portable
  • Toys
  • Treats
  • Towels
  • A (rain)jacket for dogs who get cold quickly
  • A high quality cooling vest and mat if you’re going some place warm
  • If your pet suffers from anxiety or doesn’t cope well with change, take his favourite blanket with you
  • Cute fun stuff like a bandana or bowtie
  • Grooming supplies

In the video below I’ll show you what’s in our dog’s suitcase for a weekend trip to the sea! When traveling abroad, we always take all the above with us. 😊
