DIY: How To Make Your Own Day Cream

A lot of people use day cream and a different cream for at night. This is completely unnecessary! Your skin is always the same. You don’t need all those different kinds of creams. It’s a sales trick. 😏

Today I will teach you how to make your own day cream, made out of 100% natural ingredients that are great for your skin. My skin is very sensitive due to allergies. I’ve tried so many different creams and although some feel good, nothing beats homemade skincare products. 💁🏼‍♀️

What’s so great about this day cream?

Beeswax 🐝 has an anti-inflammatory and calming effect on the skin. We use organic beeswax because it’s free of synthetic agricultural chemicals including pesticides, fungicides and herbicides. So the bees have not been exposed to flowers that have been sprayed with chemicals, their hives are chemical free and pests that effect the bees are treated naturally. This is very important since the whole point of making your own, fully natural cream is to not put chemicals on your face.

Avocado oil 🥑 is full of saturated fats that help your skin absorb the oil. It hydrates, prevents dryness and balances the natural ph-balance. It naturally protects from the sun.

Zinc oxide 🌞 is the active ingredient in sunscreen. Add this if you want an extra UV filter.

You will need:

  • Little pan
  • Spoon
  • Bowl
  • Glass jar
  • Blender
  • 30g organic beeswax
  • 200ml avocado oil
  • 230ml water
  • 45g zinc oxide

How to make day cream:

  1. Melt the beeswax au bain-marie, using the bowl and pan.
  2. Add the avocado oil. Stir it well.
  3. Slowly add water and keep on stirring. You’ll see the cream become thicker.
  4. Add the zinc oxide, but make sure not to inhale it. Use a mouth mask if necessary.
  5. Blend for 5 min. Mix it really, really well.
  6. Let it cool off and put in in the glass jar.

Store in a cool, dark place. Your cream will stay good for three months. ❤️
